2022 Int’l Interfaith Week: Muslim woman rewards faithful members in Kaduna Church

As the world marks the 2022 Interfaith Week and Harmony, (WIHW), an interfaith Specialist, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani, on Sunday rewarded some faithful members in the Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Sabon Tasha in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna.


This is even as she said the rewards was for the members’ commitments and to also encourage them in the ministry. The gifts include motivational books given to best member in the various departments of the Church; Worker’s Department, Choir and Children’s Departments,  the Ministers and the Women’s Fellowship. She said the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, encouraged all States to spread the message of interfaith harmony and goodwill in the world’s Churches,
Mosques, Synagogues, Temples and other places of worship during that week, on a voluntary basis and according to their own religious traditions or convictions.

The peace ambassador vowed to use the week taking peace campaigns to mosques, markets, railway station and meetings with youth clubs in the communities. Responding, the General Overseer of the Ministry, Pastor Yohanna Buru, expressed appreciation to Hajiya Tijjani, emphasizing that this was not the first time she would made donations to his ministry.

 He said the World Interfaith Harmony Week (WIHW), was conceived to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence, was first proposed by King Abdullah II of Jordan at the United Nations in 2010 Buru said his Ministry has line up  many activities to promote the Week through its monthly meeting with various stakeholders on peace building in the state and the entire region.


 He disclosed that parts of the annual Church activities to mark the Week include; organizing football matches, Cycling, Marathon, staking games  to enhance peace, and stability among the youth and women in the communities. He added that the Church also engaged in weekly 30 minutes Radio and Television programmes to educate and sensitize millions of listeners on the importance of peace and tolerance among different faith base organizations to live in peace and harmony with one another.


The WIHW starts from February 1 – 7, and provides a golden opportunity for people of different faith to promote religious tolerance in order to live in peace and harmony with a theme: “Faith and spiritual leadership to combat stigma and conflict during pandemic recovery.
