O1 IFHW 2021 Sri Lanka Launched
Part 1 of the WIFHW Report - Sri Lanka-WADSWIJETUNGE
Dr. W.A. Deshapriya S. Wijetunge (Ambassador of Peace, Director General-SUNFO, Policy Advisor of Sustainable Development Goals Youth Network of Sri Lanka, Sustainable Development Goals Children’s Parliament of Sri Lanka, Sustainable Development Goals Women Platform of Sri Lanka & Sustainable Development goals Citizens Forum of Sri Lanka) shared the message, vision and history of the World Interfaith Harmony week among wider cross section of People of Sri Lanka including Religious Leaders, Political Leaders, Social Leaders, Media, Youth, Children, Women and Citizens since January, 2021 in spite of lockdowns and limitations of Corona/Covid19 pandemic.
He planned 2021 Campaign at the SUNFO Center –World Interfaith Harmony Monument at SUNFO, 20, KMV Rd, Lakshapathiya, Moratuwa, Sri Lanka for diverse parts of the Country.
For the start he declared the WIFHW Campaign plans in Two events (Morning and afternoon) held at the Open International University Board Room, Mt.Lavinia, Sri Lanka on 10 January, 2021 where all sectional representatives participated
O1 IFHW 2021 Sri Lanka Launched :
A special launching event organized by Ambassador of Peace Dr.Deshapriya S. Wijetunge -Director General SUNFO to induct National Advisory Committee to introduce, promote facilitate and recognize Interfaith Harmony actions in Sri Lanka from Jan 30 to Feb 28, 2021.
Event started by honouring the National Anthem of Sri Lanka. Then
One minute Silence to remember all Past SUNFO Officials, Members & Volunteers as well as all Interfaith Harmony Peace leaders in the world followed with Multi-Religious observances – Silence prayers and meditations
Welcome Speech delivered by Lion T.Niranjan SFSUNFO (IFHW-Sri Lanka 2021 SUNFO Project Chairman )
Theme speech presented by Dr.Deshapriya S. Wijetunge –Director General-SUNFO explained the background of the event and past actions in 2019 & 2020.
Then officially launched IFHW 2021 National Advisory Committee in Sri Lanka

WIFHW 2021 Sri Lanka Interfaith Forum by the SUNFO

Commemoration Period will be : From January 30th to February 28, 2021
SUNFO Director General Dr.Deshapriya S. Wijetunge explained the history of the UN Resolution initiated by His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan and adopted by UN General Assembly unanimously on 20 October,2010.SUNFO first time organized a wide campaign for Interfaith Harmony in Sri Lanka in 2019 chaired by Dr.M.G.M.Zurfic won the third best mobilization in the world. In 2020 SUNFO mainly prometed IFHW actions in the SDG Children’s Parliament coordinated by Ms.bKamchana Ariyaratne SFSUNFO . Now in new normal situation a committee appointed with multi-religious society leaders chaired by Lion T.Niranjan SFSUNFO for 2021.
The inaugural Forum addressed by SDD Governor Lion Dr.M.Reginolld. PMJF MAF CLMSUNFO, Mr. B. Clarence Mendis HFSUNFO, Mr. Chaminda Kodikara, Dr.M.G.M.Zurfic,
Samashuree Dr. K. Upul P. Fernando,Lion Alfred Christy Emmanuel MJF SFSUNFO and DGCPSL Minister Miss Menuri Sachintha with presentations and speeches covering wide areas in different angles for Interfaith Harmony.
Summarizing the workshop with Vote of thanks done by the Chairman LionT.Niranjan SFSUNFO. He thanked to SUNFO Director General, President and all Speakers & presenters. He extended his thanks to Lion Coronoleius Rajendram SFSUNFO for coordination support, the Master Compeers; SDGCPSL Minister Nabeel Barry and SDG Youth Leader Malin Jayakody . Official designing supporters Mohamed Ayyash, Praveen Chaturanga and Multi Media hosting facilitation by Farms Lanka Staff , Registration & ushering by Mrs.Kodikara & Boart Hause Café Mt Lavinia Management and staff.
Event ended up with a fellowship reception.
