The feedback from World interfaith Harmony Week celebration

Rev. Patricia Wilson Cone of First African Baptist Church of Anchorage As I continue to reflect on Word Interfaith Harmony Week and the importance of African American History Month, I believe the late Dr. Carter G.Woodson founder of Black History Month and King Abdullah II and Prince 'Muhammad of Jordan founders of World Interfaith Harmony Week are enlightened by the good work we here in Alaska demonstrated during the month of February 2021. It was good to be centered down in unique relationships this month and recognize the importance of who we are and whose we are in specific and concrete ways of speaking harmony, singing harmony, reading about harmony and realizing we have different, yet special ways of living surviving and worshipping in God's world. The care and compassion was evident in the different faces, and tunes, of men women and children that came together this week and month to say I love you, I respect you, I care about you and I acknowledge your humanness in so many ways.  There was cooperation, liberation, mutual understandings, and open and honest expressions of faiths represented during these unprecedented times. The joy and exuberance that was present afforded quality statements and opportunities to hear, feel, and seek to understand each other.  It felt good and healthy to see that no one was complaining but having a spirit of thankfulness. Discouragement and arguments did not overtake us but rather we were filled with hope for today and the future. It was the joy, the beauty, the sharing and listening that overwhelmed us all. Thanks again to all of you because you made a difference in my life during World Interfaith Harmony Week. peace shalom shalom
