Prayers for the City 2021 - Celebrating the hope, the healing and the harmony

We called it Seven Sacred Days online and we reached out to old friends and new, young and old, rich and poor to join us in a celebration of each other because we are all neighbours, no matter where we live or what language we speak. God exists in every single life. Prayers for the City is held in Cape Town on the first Sunday of February, every year, as part of our annual contribution to World Interfaith Harmony Week.  This year for the first time ever, and like many people all over the world, we held our event online. There were many technical challenges to overcome but in the end we still found a spirit of community, neighbourliness and compassion in our gathering.  We believe that God has heard the prayers of our collective hearts even more powerfully than ever before. We worked together to be as inclusive as possible, and we chose this moment to celebrate the 21st Birthday of Cape Town Interfaith Initiative. Please read our full report here
