World Interfaith Harmony Week Annual Clergy – Faith Leader Breakfast Report

Nicki Gorny, Toledo Blade Religion Editor The MultiFaith Council of NW Ohio Annual Clergy - Faith Leader Breakfast, a registered World Interfaith Harmony Week event, was held on Zoom this year to keep us safely connected. 48 faith leaders, from 8 faith traditions, registered for this free event.  All registrants received free takeout coupons for coffee or tea and a pastry at Black Kite Coffee, compliments of Black Kite and the MultiFaith Council of NW Ohio. The opening prayer was led by Pandit Anant Dixit, Hindu Temple and Heritage Hall of Toledo.  A multimedia overview of the MultiFaith Council of NW Ohio’s Programs was narrated by Judy Lee Trautman and Crystal Taylor. Guest Speaker Nicki Gorny, Toledo Blade Religion Editor, spoke about "A Reporter's View on the MultiFaith Community in Northwest Ohio". Breakout room discussions were about creative ways that faith groups can connect safely and continue outreach during the Pandemic.  In closing, Bruce Post, member of the Jewish Community and Congregation B'nai Israel sang the Mi Shebeirach, a prayer for healing and asked us to hold in our minds and hearts the names of those who most needed healing.
