Children Building Bridges Of Harmony Around the World
We are honored to participate in WIHW 2019!
The World Interfaith Harmony Week, like all the previous endeavors of HM King Abdullah, is not a call to water down one’s faith, but rather it’s a call to respect our differences and personal beliefs and to unite around the basic principles that people of all beliefs agree upon and to understand that harmony can only come if we build upon a solid foundation of dialogue that has “Love of God and love of the neighbor or, love of Good and love of the neighbor” as its core principle for engagement.
Action speaks louder than words!
Our non-profit organization, ILA has worked at the grassroots level, organizing and promoting multiple events/ projects specifically celebrating the World Interfaith Harmony Week 2019, in the USA and around the World in order to move towards harmony, tolerance and acceptance. Our organization created space, events, tools for children and adults from different countries. We also focused on diverse communities, different religions and traditions to participate in creative and hands – on projects. During WIHW 2019 our organization has been promoting creative and critical thinking, compassion, cross-cultural community outreach, diversity engagement, ethnicities and cultures. We have effectively brought the world to both the U.S. and World classrooms!
How did we come up with idea of multiple events?
After receiving photos and videos from around the world we quickly realized that looking into the eyes of children suddenly created emotional connection and the need to take action. We can talk and celebrate harmony with other leaders and host an interfaith event in ONE location, but we realized that CONNECTING PEOPLE from around the world will create space for more voices to be heard. Giving a chance to participate in planning, suggesting and submitting new ideas and solutions of Harmony will draw more people and organizations to be a part of this much needed movement!
Our goal is to continue throughout the year with the message of HARMONY & Love of God and love of the neighbor or, love of Good and love of the neighbor for many years to come!
