We invite you to share our hopes and prayers for increased understanding and mutual prosperity among the citizens of Irving and Dallas County Texas in this new year of 2022. We are the members of the Interfaith Alliance of Irving, formed in 2020. We represent a large diverse cadre of faith leaders and representatives that worship and fellowship in Irving, one of the most diverse cities in America. For the past two years, despite Covid, we have been connecting virtually and when possible, in person, every month to share about our faiths and work together to help our fellow Irving citizens by gathering foods and warm clothing/blankets for the homeless, working in urban gardens, etc. This coming month of February, in conjunction with events held around the globe to observe the UN’s World Interfaith Harmony Week, we are hosting an Interfaith Prayers for Peace ,unity and love gathering in Irving Archives and Museum Saturday, Feb 5, from 2pm. We’d love for you to join us. The UN resolution calling for such observances was adopted unanimously by the UN in October of 2010 and has been marked every year since in the first week of February. This year marks the 12th year of such gatherings that encourage us to join our brethren in the pursuit of uplifting “Love of God and Love of the Neighbor” or “Love of the Good and Love of the Neighbor”, which are virtues and conduct held in esteem by all the world’s faiths. Won’t you join us for a festive gathering of songs, music and prayers that will display the amazing tapestry of faiths we have here in Irving?
