Join us for a special edition of Shams Table in Beirut, hosted by Josiane Smith - Londoner, design thinking facilitator and founding member of Shams Table Amman. In honor of World Interfaith Harmony week, we will be eating together and exploring what it means to have faith - in ourselves, in life, and in our ideas about the divine. Confirm your attendance by filling in the quick survey (all tickets are free): https://goo.gl/forms/k0d0ysgrukIRIcdF3 ........................................................... Shams Table is one of Shams Community’s weekly events that gathers people of various backgrounds to express and exchange their ideas and thoughts on various social issues. It aims to provide individuals with a non-judgmental space and a feeling of comfort and trust so they are willing to share personal opinions and to probably step out of their comfort zone. Everyone is welcome to join and share their unique knowledge, passion and perspectives. Dialogue is necessary in a modern world characterized by contrast and change. Dialogue can help overcome prejudices and create understanding of other people’s perspectives. It can show us new ways of perceiving the world. And it can expand our horizon. Dialogue enables us to reach across an abyss of difference, as long as we see and recognize each other for what we are: different yet all human beings in the same world. ........................................................... What should you expect? 1. Connect with another 10- 15 people from diverse backgrounds, and be ready to be inspired. 2. Exchange your knowledge and ideas and participate in dialogue with other global minds. 3. Enjoy your dinner, drinks, and conversation. This is a free event, but we are sharing a meal together, so bring enough food to share with the group (don't worry - it doesn't have to be homecooked!) We also have a kitchen for food preparation if you're bringing something that tastes better when it's warm 🙂
