EVENT DESCRIPTION

Sant'Egidio BXl, Europe organises an Interfaith Harmony Breakfast every year in the framework of the World Interfaith Harmony Week that falls in the first week of February at the suggestion of the United Nations  and to honour the World Day of Human Fraternity ( 4 february).

This year a webinar Interfaith Harmony Conversation with the leaders of the different religions in Belgium took place

Programme :

·         Welcome, introduction and moderation by Prof. Jan De Volder, Secretary General, Sant'Egidio, Bxl Europe.

·         Greetings from H.E. Ms Majali, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan in Belgium.

·         Message from Ms Annelies Verlinden, Minister of Home Affairs in Belgium

·         Open interventions by the participants

The languages spoken are mainly French and English and occasionally Dutch

The view of the official invitees and leaders/representatives of the different religions in Belgium, on the impact of the pandemic, globally and nationally, responding to the complexity of our social network but especially the resilience of the individual and the role that the different religions can play in this in Belgium and in general.
