“Vaishnav Jan to Tene Kahiye” a spiritual Bhajan (Hymn) written in the written in the 15th century by a saint poet Narsinh Mehta in the Gujarati Language was a favorite Bhajan of Mahatma Gandhiji and is revered by peoples all over the world. All the virtues of “ Vaishnav Jan” “a saintly person” vividly described in the Bhajan are universal and are applicable everywhere, everyone, every faith as well as all times. They were relevant then are even more relevant today. Prior to his evening lectures at “ Sabarmati Ashram” in india, Gandhiji used to have multi-faith and interfaith prayers and recitation and singing of this Bhajan.
