United Religions Initiative Southern Africa is proud to be associated with this event which is annually convened to celebrate WIHW by the Cape Jewish Board of Deputies, which does extraordinary bridgebuilding work in our community. This year, URI Regional Coordinator Karen Barensche is one of the speakers. Another panellist is Uzair Ben Ebrahim, current secretary general of the SRC at University of Cape Town. Uzair is also an ACWAY peace and harmony ambassador, and a member of a Cape Town youth led cooperation circle of URI. Rabbi Greg Alexander of Temple Israel in Cape Town is the third panellist. Panellists are expected to discuss what racism means to them, and help raise awareness of how embedded it is in our society so that by being aware, we may each in our own way be able to break down the barriers of separation.
