Interfaith Book Club at the Islamic Center of Boston, Wayland, U.S.A. / 508-259-3653The Interfaith Book Club of the Islamic Center of Boston is holding its Third Community Interfaith Discussion recognizing the World Interfaith Harmony Week. During February and March, people are invited to read "Sacred Ground, Pluralism, Prejudice, and the Promise of America," by Eboo Patel. Mr. Patel 'bring[s] to life the growing body of research on how faith can be a bridge for cooperation rather than a barrier of division.l..". He 'share[s] stories from the frontlines of interfaith activism.' The goal of this program is to foster a deeper understanding among people of all faiths. The discussion leader, Shaheen Akhtar, has been involved with interfaith work for over twenty years. She has led the group since 9/11 and has been a prominent leader of community interfaith work even prior to the book group. She has led numerous community discussions and made countless presentations in the Massachusetts area. As the Interfaith Book Club at the Islamic Center in Wayland, we celebrate the goals of World Interfaith Harmony Week initiative every time we gather to share our stories and reach out to each other in understanding and appreciation.
