Pagan Presence Committee: Ritual Celebration of Imbolc

Imbolc is the Celtic Celebration of Birge, the Triple Goddess, at ewing time; the first sign of oncoming Spring. We pass the hat for expenses

Christian Worship

Location: Cathedral Church of All Saints, 1330 Martello St
The website includes map, directions, facilities, an overview of worship, outreach, and programming: http://www.cathedralchurchofallsaints.com. There is a clearly visible main entrance along with a marked side entrance for persons with mobility concerns (as well as designated handicap parking). Refreshments will be served following the service. Worshipers gather in a semi-circular worship space in chairs. Visitors are not expected to make offerings.

Sikh Kirtan (Songs of Praise to God) and Langar (Communal Meal)

Location: The Maritime Sikh Society, 10 Parkhill Road, off Purcell’s Cove Rd, near Dingle Park, in the Jollimore area
Enter the prayer hall with bare feet and covered head. Please bring your own headscarf. Shoes and coats are left in the safe coatroom downstairs. In the prayer hall, everybody sits on the floor; some chairs are provided. Langar (communal food) is served to all those who attend the service. Food is vegetarian and prepared fresh in the morning. Langar is an important part of the Sunday service. It provides social time and sense of sharing and seva. All sit on the floor for Langar.

Hindu Puja (Ritual Worship)

Location: Hindu Temple, 6421 Cork Street (just off Oxford St.)
Visitors remove footwear and wash their hands on the first floor, and then go to the main temple on the second floor. After puja (ritual worship), the meal follows on the first level.

Faith Trail to Three places of worship

Location: Zakariyya Mosque, Swaminarayan Mandir and church to finlaised
Bolton is a large town in Greater Manchester- UK. Bolton Interfaith Council, works for community cohesion in the town wit people of faiths and no faith. On the day , we hope to give local people, an opportunity to visit three places of worship- An Islamic Mosque, Hindu Temple and a Christian Church. Through local publicity, we will invite local people to participate to visit three diverse places of worship- at each place a tour will be given and explanation of the faith and its values. At the end of the day we will share food and a reflection on the day. This kind of activity helps to breakdown the wrong perception and barriers and provide better understanding of other faiths and also an opportunity to engage with one another and hopefully become friends.

For the 5th Year members of the Poway Interfaith Team will have breakfast with other city leaders to discuss how we can make a greater impact towards bringing Peace to our city and neighborhoods. Imam Taha Hussane will be a special guest speaker and discuss the Islamic view of average Muslims not being considered as part of radical Islam.
