9th Annual Interfaith Prayer at Merrimack College

"Jews, Christians and Muslims: Together in Prayer." Please come together with us to pray for Shalom, Peace, Salaam. As children of Abraham, we will celebrate the richness of our life and faith - the washing of hands and the blessing and sharing of bread. 7pm in Cascia Hall on the campus of Merrimack College Music by Mackapella, under the direction of Dr. Hugh Hinton. Presented by the Center for the Study of Jewish-Christian-Muslim Relations at Merrimack College. Made possible in part by a grant from the Merrimack Valley Jewish Federation. Refreshments will be served. Prayer space will be available in the Sakowich Campus Center.

Youth for Peace

Saturday 4th of February Pope Benedict XVI will receive in the Vatican a delegation of the new generation of youth engaged in Peace actions. Among the Sermig delegation, the bishop of the city of Turin, Mons. Cesare Nosiglia, has invited as a guest of honour imam Yahya Pallavicini in order to present the Harmony in Interfaith cooperation.

Mawlud an-Naby

In the city of Brescia sunday afternoon the muslims from Pakistan organise the celebration of the mawlud an-Naby with thousands of muslims gathering from several cities of the North of Italy. Imam Yahya Pallavicini will lead a muslim delegation in the morning visiting the Christian Catholic Bishop of the city, Mons. Monari, for a symbolic moment of Interfaith Harmony.

The International Academy of Interfaith Studies will host its Second Annual Interfaith Harmony Breakfast. Last year we hosted 33 religious and spiritual leaders and their spouses. This year we expect more.

Healing the World

Following a proposal by King Abdullah of Jordan, the United Nations General Assembly has designated the First Week in February as a time to promote World Interfaith Harmony. At a Peace Garden in Southern England, are these words “FROM HATE TO LOVE FROM WAR TO PEACE.” . To end the cycle of hate and anger, we need to work at “Forgiveness, Compassion, and Oneness” This is the theme of the opening event in London. The London Central Mosque, 146 Park Rd will host from 12:30 PM until 5 PM, Wednesday, 1 February 2012. After a brief tour led by Omar Saddique of the Mosque, The Rev Dr. Alan Race will introduce the panellists from the Abrahamic Traditions: Rabbi Jackie Tabick, Chair of of the World Congress of Faiths, then Rev. Peter Owen Jones, famous for his BBC programme, “Around the World in 80 Faiths” and Imam Abduljalil Sajid, Chairman Muslim Council for Religious and Racial Harmony UK & President, Religions for Peace UK. Questions from those attending will be invited. There will be breaks both for tea and for Moslem Prayer. Those who wish may take off their shoes and enter the Mosque to observe or to pray. The second panel will be from the Dharmic Traditions of India and East Asia. Buddhist Yann Lovelock will chair with the presenters, Ajit Singh MBE (Sikh) and Kiran Bali MBE (Hindu), CEO of United Religions Initiative, UK. Yann Lovelock is the author of a significant article on the Dharmic traditions. A summary will be available at the conference. It may also be found on the website of London Fo Guang Shan Temple. Dr. Richard Boeke, Chair of the British Chapter of the International Association for Religious Freedom is coordinator of the conference. Interfaith Harmony evening meal and gathering

We, the Forest Row Interfaith Ministers (FRIM) will celebrate the annual Interfaith Harmony week next Wednesday with an evening meal and gathering in Ashurst Wood. Interfaith Chapel Services for World Harmony

Waterloo Lutheran Seminary in WAterloo, Ontario, will have noon chapels from Tuesday through Thursday (31 Jan - 2 Feb) with leaders from different faith groups praying and speaking about World Interfaith Harmony from their perspectives: Tuesday - Buddhist and Sikh Wednesday - Hindu and Bahai Thursday - Judaism, Christianity and Islam All are welcome to attend. Tuesday and Wednesdays chapels are from 12:00 to 12:30; Friday's chapel is from 12:00 to 12:45. Students will be leading the services. Inaugural Interfaith Breakfast 2012

The Interfaith Network of the City of Greater Dandenong is hosting an inaugural breakfast to celebrate the United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week 2012. Guest speaker is Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shankarananda, a spiritual teacher in the Hindu tradition for the last 40 years. Swamiji, the founder and director of the Shiva Ashram in Mount Eliza where he is based, will be speaking on "Interfaith Dialogue: an evolutionary imperative".
