Come join Interfaith Works and Women Transcending Boundaries for our 2nd World Interfaith Harmony Assembly on Sunday January 29th from 3-6. This year the event is being held at Temple Society of Concord 910 Madison St Syracuse NY (near Syracuse University).This spiritual buffet will be similar to last years with readings,choral and instrumental music,and dance. A reception to follow.

“EAT, DANCE AND PRAY - Celebrating the Unity of the Abrahamic Tradition” with Dances of Universal Peace, simple prayer-movement with song, chant, and poetry to strengthen the sense of Unity among the brother/sister faiths of al-Islam, Judaism and Christendom. 5:45pm: "Breaking bread" together, this event will include some vegetarian foods from the Holy Land. Dances led by Sheikh Yaqin Lance Sandleben and Shivadam Adam Burke and friends.

YARA's "COEXIST" 2012

After YARA’s success in the first edition of “COEXIST” on February 8th, 2011 with 100 attendees, we are proud to announce the second edition of YARA’s “COEXIST”, which will take place on February 18th, 2012 with an intended 350 attendees.
YARA will participate in the World Interfaith Harmony Week by engaging in inter-religious and interfaith dialogue to help build for a culture of peace around the world, because YARA is always keen to provide the community with social value that will leave memorable experiences for individuals. Religion and faith are rarely discussed topics in Jordan, but YARA always makes it neutrally unique and enjoyable to both the speakers and the audience.

Topic: A Better Me: Islam’s focus on personal development
Speaker: Mufti Aasim Rashid
Description: Islam means ‘to submit.’ This requires the believer to submit to the will of God in all aspects of life, including attitudes, behaviors, interaction with other humans. Though submitting in belief and worship are also important, it a person’s character that truly beautifies them and makes them a pleasure to be around. Let us explore this aspect of Islam, and learn about Islam’s guidelines for character and behavior, as outlined in the Quran and Prophetic teachings.
This interfaith worship service is an interfaith initiative of the Surrey Neighbouring Faiths Program, the South Fraser Unitarian Congregation and the BC Muslim Association.
Intercultural Dialogue and Diversity Seminar: Focus on Media

Free Christian literature distribution
