Yesterday marked the beginning of World Interfaith Harmony Week, encouraging all people of goodwill - with or without religion - to come together, build dialogue, and enhance their work through co-operation and acknowledgment. An annual United Nations observance, the event has its foundations in The Common Word initiative, which saw Muslim and Christian leaders connect through their shared Commandments; Love of God, and Love of the Neighbour. From 1954, Imam Ali Hizzam, spiritual leader of Liverpool's Muslim community, going to the mosque in the shadow of the Anglican cathedral in the British city.
