Mutual understanding and interreligious dialogue are key pillars of a culture of peace.
As we celebrate unity in diversity during #WorldInterfaithHarmonyWeek, learn how Women's Peace & Humanitarian Fund partners are working across faiths to prevent violent extremism and promote social cohesion on the front lines.
In #Burundi, Unissons-Nous pour la Promotion des Vulnérables is strengthening the capacity of women, youth and traditional leaders – including religious leaders – in conflict prevention and resolution, raising awareness of the need for women's leadership to achieve sustainable peace.
In #Sudan, we're partnering with Sabah Al-Sudan for Development to train women’s civil society organizations across North & South Darfur in good governance and peacebuilding. As a result, 130 religious leaders - men and women - have increased their skills to combat hate speech, ethnic discrimination, violent extremism, and gender-based violence.
In #Uganda, Paradigm for social justice and development is closely working with security forces across the country to transform the attitudes and practices of community members, religious leaders and duty bearers toward women’s meaningful participation in decision-making and conflict resolution processes.
Women have long been bridges between cultures, faiths, and traditions. Now more than ever, investing in their leadership must be a global priority.
