Ajay Kamalakaran (45) @ajaykamalakaran from Mumbai brings this picture of Mother Mary at the altar of pluralism. He says, "This is an icon of Mother Mary and Jesus from the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in the village of Muravanka in Western Belarus. The original icon in the 16th century church is revered by Eastern Orthodox Christians. Although I don't believe in any religion, I immensely enjoy visiting churches, temples, mosques, synagogues and other houses of worship for cultural reasons. When I saw the original icon, I felt a sense of calm and inner bliss, and so I thought I'd take a replica with me to Bombay for my mother, who is a believer in God and respects all religions. The icon is in her altar now, right next to Guruvayurappan, a form of Krishna, and Saraswathi. Every time I see the icon, I think of a beautiful autumn morning I spent in the historic church in the Belarusian village and how I would like to take my mother there in the summer so she can worship there."
