The Ohana Interfaith Hawaii is an ad hoc group of committed spiritual leaders that sponsor multiple events every year in celebration of the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week.
This year we have embarked on a project to bring together as many of the groups on all the islands of Hawaii for a retreat February 5-8.
Healing the World with Interfaith Harmony.
The purpose of this retreat is to meet other groups and individuals who are committed to interfaith dialog and harmony, to share ideas and develop ways to support each other's efforts.
Thirty- five people have registered representing six faith traditions from 3 of the Hawaiian islands. The main speakers at this retreat include: Audrey Kintagawa from the International Academy for Multicultural Cooperation, Rev. Dr. Thomas D. Lynch from the International Academy for Interfaith Studies, Maureen O'Leary from Interfaith Alliance, Washington D.C. and many others. Topics to be covered include Looking Outward, to see the bigger picture, Looking Inward to better understand who we are and what we do, Building Harmony through trust, Navigating Difficult Conversations, and How can we Help Each other?
Optional meditation time and nature walks will provide quiet personal time.
