Virtual Open Mic Night

In by Rev. Dr. Thomas D. Lynch

Our virtual open mic night was a collaboration between the Interfaith Ohana Hawaii and Pacifica Institute. We aimed to gather young artists from across the world to share music, poetry, and stories that highlighted themes faith, unity, and friendship. This event was organized this event, for the 2023 World Interfaith Harmony Week. It was the first time we attempted such an activity and we had a sincere turnout from participants in Hawaii, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and California. Some shared, poetry, dance, and insprational readings, while others just listened. We made space for each others voices and left feeling a little more connected to one another. As an actionable item, we hope to continue this meeting every 3 months.  With additional announcements to our various interfaith groups through out the Hawaiian islands and the mainland, we are focused on reaching out to our adults.
