Wednesday, March 2, marks the beginning of the Lenten Season for Christians around the world. The Season of Lent, a forty day liturgical period of prayer and fasting, begins with Ash Wednesday and concludes with the celebration of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday (April 17).
