At the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies (ICJS), we envision a vibrant, multireligious democracy where the sacred rhythms and spaces of our neighbors across religious traditions are honored and celebrated. Achieving this vision requires a commitment to both religious literacy building and intentional engagement across differences. This four-week workshop series is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as gracious hosts and thoughtful guests in interreligious settings. Participants will:
  • Explore the meaning and practice of interreligious hospitality.
  • Learn practical strategies for creating services and spaces that deepen guests’ understanding of significant rituals, holy days, and sacred traditions.
  • Engage in sacred site visits within their local community to experience services and spaces of different traditions firsthand.
  • Reflect on their experiences as both host and guest, fostering a deeper understanding, appreciation and mutual respect.
