KHGC Chairman marks World Interfaith Harmony Week
Manama, Feb. 4 (BNA): Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC), said that the Kingdom has established itself as a civilisational model in promoting values of coexistence, safeguarding freedom of belief, and respecting religious and cultural diversity, under the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
This approach is reflected in the observance of World Interfaith Harmony Week under the theme "United to Achieve Peace" and the International Day of Human Fraternity under the theme "Promoting Dialogue and Overcoming Divisions," which coincides with the Kingdom’s commemoration of the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer," in recognition of the contributions of His Highness Isa Al Kabeer, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies, and the founder of the modern state and leader of institutional development.
The chairman said that, on these national and international occasions, Bahrain takes pride in its deep-rooted legacy and humanitarian values established by its ancestors and further strengthened under the vision of His Majesty the King. These values position the Kingdom as a model of tolerance, coexistence, and respect for religious freedoms. Bahrain’s position was confirmed by its official registration in the Guinness World Records as the country with the highest density of houses of worship for different religions, coinciding with the United Nations’ observance of the International Day of Coexistence.
