LDS Members are encouraged to fast from food and drink for the day and to contribute a fast offering— the money they would have spent on food that day. This is used to assist those in need. A hymn and prayer is followed by the sacrament which is passed to those in the congregation. Testimonies follow, and the meeting then closes with another hymn and prayer.The meeting is followed by Sunday School class for adults to which visitors are welcome. The course of study this year is the Old Testament.
